Deeper data & official resources
This directory uses the FCC's public registry (PSAP ID, name, location, primary/secondary status). Richer, current data — 24/7 transfer numbers, backup numbers, capabilities, and service-area maps — lives in tools restricted to verified public-safety personnel:
- NENA Enhanced PSAP Registry & Census (EPRC) — the authoritative PSAP contact & transfer database with a map; free to verified 9-1-1 personnel (credentials required).
- APCO International — standards, telecommunicator training & agency certification, frequency coordination, and the AppComm app directory.
- National 911 Program and your state 9-1-1 office — current NG911 status and authoritative state PSAP lists.
A primary PSAP receives 911 calls routed directly from the 911 control office; a secondary PSAP receives calls transferred from a primary. The FCC registry is the most complete free national list but is updated only periodically (last major update 2019), so treat it as a reference baseline. NENA EPRC contact numbers are protected for public-safety use and are not republished here.
