The Line
Privacy Policy
How The Line collects, uses, and protects your information. The Line is a peer-support service from Gold Line Support™ for public-safety telecommunicators and dispatchers.
Effective date: June 19, 2026. This policy applies to The Line mobile app and the peer-support pages at this website, both operated by Gold Line Support™ (“we,” “us”).
The short version
- You can use The Line to reach a peer without creating an account or giving your name.
- We collect only what’s needed to connect you with a trained peer and to keep the service safe.
- We do not sell your data and we do not use it for advertising.
- You can delete your account and your data at any time from inside the app (Account → Delete account) or by contacting us.
- The Line is peer support — not a medical, clinical, or emergency service. In an emergency, call 911; for crisis support, call or text 988.

How we use your information
- To connect you with a trained peer supporter and hold your conversation.
- To coordinate a callback or text message that you ask for.
- To let a designated moderator review a conversation that is flagged for safety.
- To send notifications you opt into (push, and email/SMS where applicable).
- To keep the service secure and prevent abuse.
Who can see your information
Your support requests and messages are visible to trained peer supporters and administrators of The Line, and a designated moderator may review conversations flagged for safety. Check-ins are private to you unless you share them. We never sell your information or share it for advertising.
Service providers
We use a small number of vendors who process data only to provide The Line on our behalf:
- Supabase — secure database, authentication, and hosting.
- Cloudflare Turnstile — bot and abuse protection at sign-in.
- OpenPhone (Quo) — text-message delivery, used only if you opt in to texts.
- Expo — push-notification delivery, used only if you enable push.
- Resend — email notifications to our team.
Data retention & your control
We keep your conversations and check-ins so that you and your peer can pick up where you left off. You can delete your account and associated data at any time from within the app under Account → Delete account, or by emailing us at the address below. Deleting your account removes your conversations, check-ins, and settings from our active systems.
Security
Information is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest (AES-256). No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information. The Line is not a HIPAA-covered service and should not be used to share information you need handled under HIPAA.
Not an emergency service
The Line provides peer support and is not a substitute for professional, medical, or emergency care. If you are in danger, call 911. For free, confidential crisis support, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline).
Children
The Line is intended for public-safety professionals and other adults. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
